Our mission is to bring together resources in health, culinary and industry to focus on the issue of food, taste and nutrition related to cancer treatment in an effort to improve the quality of life of patients.
How the Consortium Started
The consortium would particularly like to thank Delaware North Companies who, demonstrating exemplary corporate citizenship, not only contributed money to the project but allowed their talented senior management and masterful culinary teams to spend countless hours creating and launching this effort. All aspects of this project have been underwritten by the generosity of Jeremy M. Jacobs, Chairman and CEO of Delaware North Companies, and the Bruce and Marsha Moskowitz Foundation.
The Cancer Nutrition Consortium, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation organized in the State of Florida. We have applied for 501(c)(3) status with the Internal Revenue Service, which is expected to be approved in the coming months.
To the extent net proceeds accrue from the Consortium’s operations, the operations of any affiliated entities, they will be donated at the direction of the Consortium’s board of directors in three equal parts: 1) to the Consortium Member medical centers, 2) to The Jacobs Institute, Inc. (a 501(c)(3) public charity) for vascular research, and 3) to the Biomedical Research and Education Foundation (a 501(c)(3) public charity), which provides funding for new ideas, products and further research in cancer nutrition. The Consortium’s accounting firm will independently monitor and issue periodic financial statements describing any net proceeds that may be derived from the Consortium’s operations, as well as any distribution thereof.
